This is a 12-month, full-time contract position to drive campaigns with the partner organizations of the FAIR (Financial Architecture: International Reform) network. FAIR is a loose network of civil society organisations from around the world united in their goal to secure a more just and equitable global financial architecture by the end of 2030 with agreements that can deliver sufficient volume, affordability and predictability of finance to meet climate, nature and development goals.
Together with a Network Convenor, the Senior Strategist will work with coalitions of the willing to drive and grow people-powered campaigns, contributing new insights on strategy and tactical ideas, coordinating tactics across the network, supporting the identification of campaign moments and rapid response, and shared decision making in a collaborative and transparent manner across coalitions and the network.
Specifically, the Senior Strategist will be responsible to work with network members to:
- Develop and refine specific campaign strategies on FAIR priority campaigns such as tax and debt justice.
- Find synergies and points of alignment and leveraging the diversity of approaches, theories of change and tactics across the ecosystem.
- Facilitate diverse networks of campaign partners to continually refine campaign goals, identify gaps and key moments, and execute tactics to a high standard.
- Provide advice and support to partners to help them run more effective campaigns and deliver specific tactics with the highest possible impact.
- Coordinate intel sharing across the network and different campaigns.
- Support the direct delivery of campaign tactics as circumstances dictate.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of successful senior campaign leadership experience with a proven professional record that demonstrates exceptional strategic insight and judgement, knowledge of campaign planning, and strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills.
- A sophisticated understanding of different tactics and theories of change and how advocacy and public campaigning and communications function.
- Demonstrated experience and/or training on decolonization and working collaboratively and effectively with a wide diversity of people and organizations in an international context.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a track record of communication to non specialised audiences.
- Understanding of the intersection between climate, development, economic justice and other agendas within international advocacy and policy processes is a plus.
- Ability to bring together networks, organisations and individuals working across different sectors and geographies.
- Deep knowledge and experience of driving change internationally, including experience and understanding of southern perspectives particularly on development and climate change.
- Comfortable with remote working arrangements and working flexibly with partners across different time zones and cultures.

About the contract
- Remuneration will vary with experience and location, but is highly competitive with leading non-governmental organisations.
- Fixed term 12-month consultancy.
- Extension will be subject to a successful start up phase and further funding.
