The Global Methane Hub is the first coordinated philanthropic approach to methane mitigation funding. We support ambitious catalytic investments, lay the groundwork for long-term transformation of challenging sectors, and deliver quick wins in sectors that are ripe for action on the ground. The Hub focuses on the energy, agricultural, and waste sectors which account for 96% of human-caused methane emissions.
Our actions are global in nature but we believe quick wins will only be had if we engage sub-nationals and local communities. Our grantmaking focuses on the highest emitting sectors and regions with a team spread out over six continents and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.
Purpose of role
The Global Methane Hub is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Regional Associate to work closely with the Regional Lead (RL), Asia to support the planning, implementation, and management of methane mitigation efforts in high-emitting and geopolitically strategic countries across Asia. This role involves providing critical research, coordination, and administrative support to drive methane mitigation strategies and projects across the waste, agriculture, energy and cross-cutting sectors.
Primary responsibilities
Program coordination & evaluation
- Assist the RL in managing the day-to-day operations of GMH’s methane mitigation work in Asia. This will include activities such as: support with scheduling, planning, and preparing materials for meetings, workshops, and other events; grant management; and outreach to potential new partners.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
- Work collaboratively with the Asia implementing partners to understand and review progress.
- Work closely with the Impact & Learning Officer to track existing grants and review impact reports, contribute to the development of Asia-relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of GMH’s work across the region.
- Help develop and maintain databases and tools for monitoring project outcomes and identifying gaps and areas for improvement.
Grantmaking
- Assist the RL, Asia with planning and forecasting of upcoming funding rounds, funding priorities and timelines for the Asia projects, particularly India, SE Asia, and China.
- Aligned with GMH’s strategy, work with sector teams on identifying potential implementing partners, reviewing proposals and preparing documents to pitch to senior leadership.
- Manage all administrative and operational requirements for the Asia team’s grant portfolio, including the use of Fluxx grant management portal.
- Develop reports, presentations, and briefings to support decision-making processes.
Stakeholder engagement
- Communicate with grantees and liaise with sectoral teams (Energy, Agriculture and Waste/Circular Economy) on their programmatic priorities.
- Support the organization of workshops, seminars, and meetings with stakeholders to identify and cultivate new partners and help inform GMH’s grantmaking approach.
- Maintain relationships with grantees, partners and key government agencies to expand the Hub’s impact.
- Representing GMH during key meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Help prepare outreach materials such as PowerPoint decks, success stories, fact sheets, and policy briefs to communicate program achievements and key insights.
Program operations support
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, budgets, and reports, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, meetings and convenings.
- Provide organizational, logistical, and administrative support as needed.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed by the organization.

- Bachelor’s degree + at least 3 years of experience in program coordination within climate/ methane mitigation space.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex, $1M+ projects and learn quickly.
- Prior exposure to methane emissions or greenhouse gas reduction strategies and sector-specific climate policies in the agriculture/waste/energy sectors for Asia will be advantageous.
- Strong research ability with advanced oral and written communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative with a co-creation mindset.
- Encourages others to share the spotlight and visibly celebrates and supports the success of the team, external partners, and grantees.
- Intellectual agility and the ability to analyze, think critically, and understand emerging issues and opportunities to reduce methane emissions.
- Hands-on experience in working across geographies with multiple stakeholders, in particular in developing countries.
- Knowledge of the political economy and ability to tailor opportunities to the political and socio-economic context in the region
- Excellent oral and written communication fluency in English
- Multilingual skills and multicultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.
- Strong interpersonal skills and great attention to detail.
- Handles tasks of any size with a can-do attitude.

Additional information:
- This will be a full-time (40 hours/week) remote role and will require time flexibility in order to collaborate with staff and stakeholders in multiple time zones (GMH HQ being in Santiago, Chile). The position supervisor is in the GMT+5:30 time zone.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally ~20%.

U.S.-based employees are employed by our fiscal sponsor, the Windward Fund. Windward offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enrol in 401k retirement plans and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 160 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
