The International Land and Forest Tenure Facility (Tenure Facility) is the main global funding mechanism dedicated to advancing land tenure and territorial governance of Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples and local communities at scale. Since 2017, we have channelled global funding to these groups, with measurable results, including millions of hectares of pristine forest secured and defended, stronger community governance and lasting capacity within partner organisations. We advance such outcomes by funding Indigenous, Afro-descendant and local community partner organisations to assist communities in mapping and monitoring their territories, strengthening governance bodies, developing territorial management plans, preparing and submitting land claims. We also support our partners to improve their strategies and internal systems, hire and train staff, and invest in essential equipment. To scale and improve these efforts, we, alongside our partners, document and share lessons learned, engaging in multi-stakeholder platforms, policy dialogues and learning exchanges. Our support is long-term as well as flexible, delivered through a global portfolio of projects implemented by partner organisations, generating strong results.
The Programme Performance Coordinator supports the Chief Programme Officer (CPO) in overseeing programme performance across the grant portfolio. This is a delegated role responsible for ensuring effective coordination, monitoring and reporting of results arising from grants provided to grantee partners. This position plays a critical role in strengthening accountability, learning and reporting results. It requires strong leadership, coordination skills and knowledge of result reporting. The position is global across Tenure Facility’s regions of operation in Asia, Africa and Latin America — it may involve in-country visits to project partners, though normally a few times per year.

- Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting of grant-funded results, as well as strengthening results reporting and compliance by grantee partners
- Support MEL staff to facilitate knowledge sharing, learning and documentation of best practices.
Specific Responsibilities
- Act as CPO on delegated authority in their absence, providing leadership on programme performance oversight and coordination.
- Lead on alignment of programme performance with organisational strategy (especially on indicators in the results reporting framework) and donor requirements, contributing to timely donor’s reports and information to support fundraising by the Development team.
- Support timely performance monitoring and accurate reporting of results by (a) coordinating the MEL team in the collection, analysis and synthesis of results from grantee partners, and (b) developing and maintaining tracking performance indicators across grants.
- Provide leadership on learning and knowledge management to (a) facilitate cross-programme learning and knowledge sharing, and (b) documenting and disseminating lessons learned, best practices and success stories.
- Collaborate with the MEL staff to provide technical assistance and strengthen results reporting in compliance with agreed monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks by grantee partners.
- Support quality assurance by MEL staff to ensure grantee reporting meets quality standards and donor compliance requirements.
- Support MEL staff to validate performance data (narrative reports and spatial data) submitted by grantee partners for accurate and timely reports.
- Ensure programme data in the ROOTS systems is updated to reflect a true picture in performance dashboards, trackers and scorecards.
- Ensure functional workflows for timely and regular programme performance reporting and data insights that strengthen TF’s positioning within the funding landscape.
