Fundraising Director

Greenpeace UK

Location: London, UK

Salary: This role is positioned with a salary of c.£80,000 - £85,000 pa depending on experience

Description:

Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world from destruction.

Our vision is a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come.  To make this a reality, we push for real and systemic change by investigating, documenting and exposing the causes of environmental destruction, and confront governments and corporations responsible for it.  We take peaceful direct action to protect our Earth and promote solutions for a green and peaceful future.

Our global movement is growing every day and we’re at a pivotal point in human history to turn the tide on climate change and biodiversity loss.  In order to ensure our campaigning efforts continue to be effective and to keep up the pressure on government and businesses, we fundraise from private individuals and charitable trusts and foundations who help us continue our work.  We have a high-performing Fundraising Department and are now looking for a new Director to lead the charge in this area and ensure that we continue to sustainably grow our philanthropic income.

Under the leadership of our co-Executive Directors, Areeba Hamid and Will McCallum, the Fundraising Director will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of a fundraising strategy that delivers what we need.  As an active member of the SMT, you will provide leadership for our Fundraising Department and collaborate with a newly appointed Programme Director and other senior colleagues to deliver winning campaigns that increases both our income and brand awareness with new audiences.

Requirements:

You will bring excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as a strategic outlook and entrepreneurial mindset.  Your track record of delivery will include motivating and getting the best out of the fundraising teams you’ve managed, through creating the right environments for success.  Experience of designing and delivering effective mass individual giving programmes and engaging new audiences will be vital, as will your ability to navigate complex global organisations and getting things done.  The time to act is now.  Will you join us?
