About Africa No Filter: Africa No Filter is an advocacy organisation working to shift stereotypical narratives about Africa. We exist because many stories about Africa still lazily revolve around the single story of poor leadership, poverty, corruption, disease, and conflict. These stories fail to portray the other more progressive side of Africa and collectively perpetuate the narrative that Africa is broken, dependent, and lacks agency. The result? Harmful stereotypes that continue to paint a rigidly negative picture of the continent, despite the massive strides we are making.
Our mission at Africa No Filter is to shift these stereotypes because they impact the way the world sees Africa and how Africa sees itself. Through community building and advocacy, we support storytellers to help shift the stereotypical narratives about Africa one story at a time.
Africa No Filter is a donor collaborative funded by Ford Foundation, Bloomberg, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Luminate, Open Society Foundations, the Hilton Foundation, and Hewlett Foundation.
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Fundraising and Project Manager to play a pivotal role in expanding Africa No Filter’s funding base and managing key initiatives. This individual will drive fundraising efforts in the US, UK, and Africa, engaging with corporate sponsors, Foundations, HNI’s and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). Additionally, they will oversee major projects, including the Opportunity Africa campaign and the Naija Now initiative, ensuring effective implementation and partner engagement.
- A proven fundraiser with a track record of securing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
- An experienced project and program manager with a background in managing large-scale initiatives.
- Well-connected within corporate, philanthropic, and development finance circles in Africa, the UK, and the US.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to engage high-net-worth individuals, corporate leaders, and foundations.
- A strong communicator capable of crafting compelling pitches and navigating high-level donor meetings.
- A self-starter who thrives in high-stakes environments and can drive initiatives independently.
How to Apply: If you have the network, expertise, and drive to make this vision a reality, we want to hear from you. Please send your application to info@africanofilter.org before 30th April 2025.
