
About Soi Dog Foundation:
Soi Dog Foundation is the largest animal welfare organisation in Asia dedicated to helping stray dogs and cats. Soi Dog Foundation sterilises, vaccinates, administers medical treatment, shelters, promotes adoption of stray dogs and cats in Thailand, and runs education programmes on animal welfare. Soi Dog Foundation is also actively working to end Asia’s dog meat trade.

Job Title and Summary: The Community Engagement Director helps to formulate and implement a strategy to change people’s behaviour towards animals in Thailand, with a focus on improving the human-dog relationship. The Community Engagement Director develops systems to improve SDF’s community engagement initiatives and leads SDF’s Humane Education, Community Relations and Social Change programmes to achieve a change in people’s behaviour, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and supervise all SDF Community Engagement programmes (Humane Education, Community Relations and Social Change) across Thailand
· Develop a strategy to improve SDF community engagement and education interventions, using the Theory of Change framework (with a focus on Human Behaviour Change)
· Oversee design and implementation of data collection, including baseline community needs assessments
· Develop indicators for desired outcomes, which will be used to assess the performance of all CE interventions – ie gather evidence to measure the impact of our work
· Strengthen existing SDF relationships with local stakeholders, as well as explore, identify and develop new opportunities to advance animal welfare through community-based initiatives and collaborations
· Guide strategic planning, management and budgeting of CE initiatives
· Ensure sustainable approaches are embedded in community projects; develop exit plans where appropriate
· Act as a mentor, technical advisor and facilitator to help field staff successfully implement their day to day work engaging the public
· Work closely with all SDF departments, including CNVR/ Hospitals, PR and Marketing
· Oversees the hiring, reviewing, disciplining and terminating of employees in conjunction with the HR department
· As part of the Soi Dog team, is available to help as needed, even with tasks that are outside of the job description

Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ experience working in the non-profit sector, experience working for human behavior change using Theory of Change framework
- Extensive Project Planning and Management experience
- Experience in staff training and development
- Strong leadership qualities, excellent communicator, confidence & an engaging demeanor
- Master’s degree in Sociology , Psychology, Communications or related field is an advantage
- Ability to travel locally and regionally if needed; ability to work with a diverse staff
