As part of the External Relations Unit, IRC's Mass Markets department is responsible for the global delivery of circa US$65million of predominantly unrestricted funding, contributing to a total of circa US$240million that the organisation currently raises in total from the private sector. The Mass Markets department plays an important strategic role in the creation of IRC’s brand, awareness and support for its advocacy goals.
The IRC's strategy centers on its ambition to continue to improve the scale and effectiveness of IRC programs worldwide with evidence of what works best to impact people’s lives in conflict and fragile settings. The fundraising pillars of the External Relations Unit comprises colleagues and teams delivering marketing, account management, leadership gifts, board liaison, corporate partnerships, brand stewardship and communications to support this work. These colleagues are primarily located in the USA at present – but IRC plans to significantly expand its global fundraising footprint. Other colleagues within IRC are also deeply engaged with private funding & partners – in particular within Europe, US Resettlement and field program – and we need to work in close integrated collaboration to ensure the best use of resources and highest impact for IRC.
As Head of DRTV, Live Streaming and Gaming you will work in close partnership with the Vice President of Mass Markets and the Mass Market Leaders in the USA, UK, Sweden, Germany and 3 other markets to be added by end 2023.
You will lead the development and delivery of IRC’s International DRTV, Live Streaming and Gaming operations, which will be rooted in building best in class public engagement, brand centered marketing and supporter development. You will lead on delivering an expertly blended model of committed (monthly) donors as well as one-time givers. Initial focus will be the USA, UK, Germany and Sweden.
The mantra for any IRC donor engagement in the mass markets space is Stay Longer, Do More and Give More. It is expected that this role will lead the way in developing effective supporter journey’s and meaningful interactions with donors recruited via DRTV, Live Streaming and Gaming, that will create a greater sense of connectivity and commitment leading to long term giving
In this role you will provide visionary leadership to fuel creative, dynamic and market sensitive operations and deliver rapid growth in supporter-based revenue. At the heart of this operation will be a test, learn and optimize culture, driven by data based decision making. S/he will ensure that the international DRTV, Live Streaming and Gaming operations are supporter focused and target driven: with a close daily, weekly and monthly tracking of spend, results, and impact.
This role is a member of the External Relations team and shares leadership responsibility for the success of the IRC External Relations goals.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE IN THIS JOB?
Our target markets are seeing numbers growing in terms of DRTV recruited supporters, and donors. IRC is building connectivity in the livestreaming and gaming space and has identified opportunities for revenue generation in the mass markets

The Head ofr DRTV, Live Streaming and Gaming, will work across the External Relations teams, working alongside the VP Communications, Senior Director Mar/Comms, VP Advocacy and Heads of Mass Markets internationally. In addition, this role will partner with teams across the organization including, Finance, Legal, International Development Programs and others.
