Your skills and experience:

  • You have obtained an academic degree with focus on fundraising, marketing, communication, sales and distribution or an otherwise comparable education, and you can look back on several years of relevant work experience in fundraising, marketing, communication or sales.
  • You can verify broad leadership experience (preferable in the NGO/fundraising sector), and you are able to motivate and support your teams and manage significant budgets.
  • You are experienced in the establishment and implementation of multi-annual strategies.
  • You have excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and you are used to quickly making decisions under pressure.
  • You communicate clearly, transparently and effectively in German and English. Your German skills must be at least conversational as German is the working language at SCDE.
  • You operate performance- and data-driven and you have a proven track record of recruiting high-quality donors/customers along the key fundraising/acquisition KPIs, while using existing resources effectively.
  • You have a proven ability to plan and oversee complex projects on time and budget and the ability to motivate yourself and others to improve performances.

 

Job description

We are offering a full-time position (40 hours/week) which we are aiming to fill immediately or as soon as possible.

Purpose of role:

The Head of Face-to-Face (F2F) and Telemarketing is a high-profile and pivotal position within the fundraising department of Save the Children Germany. The person chosen will be responsible for one of the biggest and most successful inhouse-F2F-programmes in Germany. You are leading a highly experienced, committed and well-established team of highly motivated F2F-managers, with currently 5 direct reports. You are reporting to the fundraising director and you are a member of the Fundraising Management Team. You proactively model and reinforce the values of Save the Children to enhance our positive organizational culture.

Your responsibilities:

  • You manage the F2F Fundraising & Telemarketing programmes of Save the Children Germany and work on the their further strategic and operational development.
  • You are head of a team of up to 150 fundraisers (15 are based in our office and up to 135 p.a. on campaigns).
  • You are responsible for expanding, strengthening and diversifying the regular donor acquisition through the F2F inhouse team and partnerships with F2F agencies.
  • The development of the inhouse Telemarketing Team and our telemarketing activities (e.g. donor retention & development, upgrading campaigns), aiming at the growth and diversification of the supporter base of Save the Children, is part of the job description.
  • You are leading the F2F Management Team (consisting of managers of HR/Recruitment, Logistics, Locations, Data Hub & Field) and further develop the teams in core areas: communication, motivation and resource management.
  • You set up, monitor & control significant budgets and report frequently to the fundraising director.
  • You monitor KPIs, focusing on the teams’ performance and the quality of acquired donors and aim for constant development and implementation of optimisation measures.
  • You contribute actively to the global F2F network of Save the Children International.
