We are in the process of remodelling and expanding our fundraising team in Vienna and looking for an experiencedHead of Fundraising Strategy Channel Development to support out expansion plans. 

Job description

Role Profile

  • Planning and implementing the diversification (e.g. F2F) and integration of our individual giving channels and segments mainly for the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic) markets. You will set up and implement related key-projects and work in close cooperation with the individual donor fundraising and the respective country teams.
  • Driving an evidence and analysis based integrated, multi-channel fundraising strategy and its execution in collaboration with the International Director of Fundraising and the CEO.
  • Being responsible for data analysis in close cooperation with the Fundraising Systems Department, which provides data from the existing fundraising database.
  • Creating, interpreting and further developing key data and KPI analysis and reports to inform strategic decision making.
  • Driving donor retention by managing and further developing different supporter journeys for all donor groups together with the individual donor fundraising team.
  • Contributing to the development of integrated and cross-border fundraising campaigns.
  • Collecting and maintaining market and fundraising trend data to keep up to date with the development of the main fundraising markets, to ensure that Light for the World reflects and implements the best international and national practice in fundraising.

Candidate requirements

Your profile:

  • Good and solid knowledge across wide range of fundraising fields and channels and expert knowledge about individual giving tools and mechanisms, including face to face (key requirement), telephone, direct mail, digital/social media DRTV etc.
  • Senior level working experience in fundraising and strategy work including DACH market understanding. This entails strategy definition and implementation as well as data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • You have planned and implemented individual giving fundraising channels and then worked on continuous improvement to improve your results. This includes solid knowhow around donor journey development and implementation to improve retention and how to increase the lifetime value of donors via upgrading and cross-selling of other products, such as legacies.
  • You are a strategic and results-driven professional with project management skills and a hands-on mentality and working practice.
  • You have well-developed interpersonal and intercultural skills and are an excellent communicator with the ability to motivate and lead a team to success.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English are needed (C1/C2).
  • Personal interest in international development and human rights and easily committing to Light for the World’s mandate and values will be necessary.

The location of employment is Vienna; some international travel will be required. For this position an annual gross salary commencing at EUR 46.000,- (40hrs/week) commensurate with qualifications and experience is foreseen. Entry date: as soon as possible.
