Save the Children International

We employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in 117 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.

  • All children learn from a quality basic education and that,
  • Violence against children is no longer tolerated

We know that great people make a great organization, and that our employees play a crucial role in helping us achieve our ambitions for children. We value our people and offer a meaningful and rewarding career, along with a collaborative and inclusive workplace where ambition, creativity, and integrity are highly valued.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Head of EU Donor Relations to join our Brussels based leadership team, and strengthen our partnership with the EU.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with energy, commitment, and talent, to help ensure positive and lasting change in the lives of the most marginalised and vulnerable children.

  • Extensive professional experience within the EU institutions (DG ECHO, DEVCO and/or NEAR) will be considered as a strong advantage
  • A proven record of accomplishment in institutional partnership building, brokering relationships with partners, and engagement at a senior level, as well as outstanding negotiation and diplomatic skills
  • Strong and demonstrated team leadership skills with situational agility, strategic vision, and commitment to delivering results.
  • Experience of influencing and delivering results cross organisationally within a large complex organisation.
  • Understanding of current thinking and future trends of contemporary humanitarian, development and child rights issues.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to network with, and influence, senior people internally to set and agenda and achieve agreed goals.
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Self-driven, with the ability to take a pro-active approach, work on own initiative, solve problems and think creatively in fluid or less structured environments.
  • A good working level of French will be a strong advantage

We offer a competitive package, in the context of the sector.
