Save the Children is recruiting a data-driven, senior marketeer with a strong vision and relevant experience in managing the overall supporter experience and retention/development programme to join our fast-growing Fundraising programme in the Dutch market.

Job description

Role within the organisation
The function falls within the Fundraising department, which works closely together with our colleagues in Communication, Lobby & Advocacy and Programmes to help as many children as possible. The fundraising department consists of three teams: Mass marketing, Marketing operations and Major accounts. The Donor Experience Manager is a member of and coordinates the Mass marketing team. You are the direct link between your team, the others within the department, and your colleagues in the Communications department. You report to the Fundraising Director.

Candidate requirements

The ideal candidate
We are looking for a new colleague who is prepared to leverage his/her direct & data-marketing experience to develop, together with colleagues, a best-in-market supporter experience. Your primary responsibility in this function is to develop, execute and optimize a loyalty and retention strategy which is embraced by the whole organisation. You will do this by leading a project group to develop plans, execute via all channels and continually test and improve our supporter communication content and approach.
 
You yourself will keep a close ‘finger on the pulse’, managing some channels and activities directly and some via channel specialists. You therefore have direct experience with several channels in the marketing mix (Face-to-face, telemarketing, e-mail, direct mail, events, etc.). Naturally, you are also used to working with clear and measurable retention and lifetime value (LTV) KPIs.
 
Because you also coordinate the planning of (in)direct marketing activities to our donors and supporters (for both the Fundraising and Communications departments), you are highly organised and are able to bring all the details together to a single supporter-central planning.
 
Your profile:

  • You have at least several years of experience with customer loyalty in the commercial sector or an (international) non-profit and would love the opportunity to set up something exceptional and ambitious within a fast-growing and fast-paced INGO.
  • You have demonstrable success with multichannel marketing, able to find the ideal mix of channels and messages to reach your goal.
  • Designing plans and working with budgets is your second nature. Just as with developing reports and working with data and analytics. You also have a solid background in data-driven marketing.
  • You are analytical, good with numbers, detailed and accurate. You’re also pro-active and entrepreneurial and know how to translate ideas and concepts into action and results.
  • Finally, you work well in a team but are not afraid to stick your neck out to take a risk. You are a good communicator, self-motivated and can handle stress. As such, you know how to overcome obstacles and get internal alignment to reach your objectives.

Your compensation is in line with the non-profit scale in our market and requirements of the Dutch government: between €3.240 and €4.605 per month, with a slight increase every year and 8% extra ‘vacation’ supplement each Spring.
