Job description

The Grants Manager is responsible for cultivating local fundraising efforts in Latin America in conjunction with local teams. They will be the focal point for all proposal development, donor reporting, information management and grants management capacity-building efforts as well as provide key support in in-country donor relations, business development, communications and advocacy.

  • Research and develop proposals to foundations, corporations and other major gift prospects, including grant requests, proposal letters, budgets and presentations with the purpose of raising support. These will be presented by in-country teams as well as fundraising offices in Europe and the U.S.
  • In coordination with the NPHI Director of Fundraising Development, supervise/oversee the application of international grants for one or multiple countries with international organizations, government agencies, foundations and corporations.
  • Build grant management capacity of in-country staff by facilitating training, and providing one-on-one follow-up support in report writing, proposal development and other topics.

Candidate requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Position based in Latin America, location flexible
  • Expertise in writing proposals, online applications and compiling kits for funders
  • A proven leader who supports cross-functional engagement and problem-solving
  • Excellent oral and written reporting skills and demonstrated ability to write and edit reports under deadline pressure
  • Working knowledge of budget development and management
  • Ability to contribute to assessment planning and analysis, and to gather and synthesize information from a range of internal and external sources
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting or familiarity working with international partners
