Job description

Background

The Digital Fundraising Specialist role sits within the Digital Fundraising Team in PFP (Private Sector Fundraising & Partnerships). The Team’s objective is to maximize supporter engagement and fundraising across UNICEF’s diverse network of National Committees and Country Offices, through proactive specialist support and strategic investments in the area of digital. The purpose of this role is to support internal PFP stakeholders and UNICEF markets to maximize engagement and income generation using digital strategies and tactics.

Primary responsibilities

Fundraising Consultancy

  • Provide specialist digital marketing and fundraising knowledge to PFP staff in Fundraising Services, Market Development (and wider).
  • Input into PFP’s overall strategic planning with digital strategy, and support this strategy with National Committees and country offices.
  • Provide specialist digital knowledge to UNICEF National Committees and country offices as required.
  • Support markets in maximizing offline opportunities through leveraging digital.

Campaign support and implementation

  • Work with agencies and suppliers related to paid digital media, digital content, creative and user experience as well as technology implementation.
  • Work with the Creative Team to manage digital campaigns (website content, advertising and email communications) to global donors.
  • Be part of the implementation team on the roadmap for global digital technology solutions including the global online fundraising platform, email platform, etc.

Systems and analytics

  • Manage and implement digital analytics, attribution and A/B testing solutions as required, working with agencies where appropriate.
  • Interface between PFP, UNICEF offices and ICT for strategic projects such as the Digital Transformation Project and CRM Project.

Testing and Innovation

  • Support new innovative fundraising projects in National Committees and country offices with expert digital knowledge.
  • Support digital tests working with key markets to pilot new techniques and roll out learnings globally.

Candidate requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in digital fundraising or marketing.
  • Proven success in delivering successful digital marketing programmes with demonstrated financial results.
  • Solid understanding and experience of integrating digital with offline campaigns (e.g. DRTV, telethons etc.) to maximise income.
  • Experience of planning digital activity across a large organisation, including running planning workshops with cross organisational stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills delivering complex projects on time and on budget with a strong knowledge of all the financial aspects of digital fundraising/marketing including analysis of costs/income, ROI, conversion and attrition data and all other relevant KPIs.
  • Experience conducting audience research and insight projects an advantage.
  • Experience of working on digital attribution projects is an advantage.

Education

·         Advanced University degree in any of the following: Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Fundraising, Social Sciences, Public Administration, International Relations, or other relevant educational qualification.

·         A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Institute of Fundraising (IoF) or Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) qualifications or other equivalent professional qualification would be an asset.

Languages

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
  • Working knowledge of at least one other UN Language an advantage.
